Lynch Announces Candidacy for State Rep
For the first time in 8 years, Missouri's 148th District will be getting a new face in the Missouri House of Representatives. Current State Representative, David Day, will be leaving office at the end of 2012 due to term limits.
Rumors have abounded for months about who might seek the open house seat, one of those rumors was put to rest Friday night at the annual Lincoln Days event in Dixon. Steve Lynch, long time businessman and community leader, took the opportunity to announce that he will be seeking the Republican nomination for state representative.
"Sometimes, you know when something is right. I believe that in my heart tonight. I believe it's the right time, I believe it's the right job, and I believe I'm the right person to set up and serve the 148th District and the State of Missouri as your state representative" said Lynch. Steve went on to say he felt like he's been training for this job his whole life, "I believe all my experiences in business, community service, church, and life have all prepared me for this position and point to this very moment in time."
"I look forward to visiting with several old friends during the campaign, and having the chance to meet many new ones while I am out listening to what is on the minds of the voters" concluded Lynch.
Lynch's family has a long and rich tradition of public service. His late grandfather, P.R. Lynch, was the first mayor of St. Robert, his father, Vic Lynch, was the 2005 Citizen of the Year, and his late father-in-law, Ronald Workman, was a former mayor of Richland.
